DAY 1: HANOI – INCENSE VILLAGE – SO KIEN BASILICA – CHAU SON MONASTERY – PHAT DIEM (L, D)

07:30–08:00: Hotel pick-up in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

Depart Hanoi and travel south through the peaceful countryside of the Red River Delta.

Visit Quang Phu Cau Incense Village, famous for its colorful incense-drying yards. Meet local artisans, learn about the centuries-old craft of incense making, and capture memorable photos.

Continue to So Kien Basilica, one of Vietnam’s oldest and most historically significant Catholic churches. Admire its architecture and discover its role in the history of Catholicism in Northern Vietnam.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near Van Long Nature Reserve before visiting Chau Son Monastery. Surrounded by lush countryside, this peaceful retreat features striking Gothic-style red-brick architecture, beautiful gardens, and a tranquil atmosphere.

In the late afternoon, travel to Phat Diem Commune, Ninh Binh Province, and check in at Phat Diem Plaza Hotel. Enjoy free time to relax or stroll around town.

DAY 2: PHAT DIEM – COOKING EXPERIENCE – TAM COC – HANOI (B, L)

After breakfast, visit Phat Diem Stone Cathedral, a remarkable 19th-century landmark blending traditional Vietnamese architecture with European Gothic influences.

Next, explore a nearby local market with your guide, discovering fresh produce, aromatic herbs, and traditional ingredients. Select ingredients for your hands-on Vietnamese cooking experience back at the hotel, where local cooks will teach you to prepare regional specialties. Enjoy the delicious dishes you have made for lunch.

After lunch, check out and travel to Tam Coc, one of Northern Vietnam’s most iconic landscapes. Known as “Halong Bay on Land,” Tam Coc offers breathtaking views of the Vietnamese countryside.
